And the story goes like this...

THE BUTTSHAPERZ were formed in 1998 in a local pub as an idea of "beeing street-musicians", travelling from town to town, from bar to bar, and playing the blues. Formed as an little project by two members of local rock - bands "krankenHaus" & "Dobri duhovi", they had a few gigs in their hometown as an acoustic -guitar duo, sometimes joined by some friend on percussion or a little synthesizer with a rhythm-machine. The only track from this time is a song called "Suad is a fisherman", that appeared on a compilation of local bands, issued by independent label "Greencajg records".

In the year 2000 they appeared on an open-air festival, fully electrical, and with two new musicians on bass & drums, playing the blues a little bit harder & faster but still raw and with no gimmicks.

In the beginning of the new millenium TT STONE & BIG AL D. (the two original members) decided to record a couple of songs in their own studio. The studio sessions for their debut album "Speed limit" happened at last. During the first 4 Months of 2001, they recorded & produced 10 songs with a vision of blues, swamps, trains, roads, travelling, love, love affairs, women, whiskey, friendship, long nights and early mornings.
During the recordings they listened a lot to Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Tom Waits, Canned Heat, & Howlin Wolf, looking for influences by the great masters of rhythm & blues, and listened to their production and trying to get a similar feeling on their recording. "Speed limit" is the result of the sessions, made for the blues lovers & lovers of the origins of modern music.

Since 2001 there is a new point of view on the Buttshaperz. A Band is formed (drumz, 2 electric guitarz & bass - nothing can beat this combination) and the name is, logically, ELEKTRIK BUTTSHAPERZ. They are playing the Buttshaperz Stuff in a hard-rock, garage way with little influences of kraut-rock (Can), blues-rock and a little touch of Grateful Dead & The Stooges. The Cast of the ELEKTRIK BUTTSHAPERZ is a group of friends with a lot of Experience in local rock - bands, such as DUHOVI, EONI & KRANKENHAUS.

In May 2002 they won at the HGF FESTIVAL in Zabok in a Concurrence of Bands from all over Croatia. In November and December they promoted their very limited mini album "Music for Aquasphere", as a part of an photo-exhibition in Zagreb & Čakovec. In February 2003, Anubis Records released "Better Working People" the debut-single, which includes 3 songs. At this moment they are playing all around Croatia & Slovenia and recording songs for their album that we can expect this year.
